Mary Ann needs prayer!

This is Mary Ann- we are praying the Lord intervenes to get her off the street into a safe place.

Authentic Identity

This is Cooley’s (1902) theory of the “looking-glass self” that can summed up as “I am not what I think I am and I am not what you think I am; I am what I think that you think I am.” Even though it’s descriptive (not prescriptive) it seems to be the most common barometer, often unknowingly, underlying one’s core self-beliefs in our culture. In a prescriptive sense it is operating on one major distortion that unless corrected one’s sense of self value will always remain dysregulated. And unfortunately, behavior often follows (though not necessarily) our core sense of self. What mirror pane is missing for an accurate self-appraisal?
